Zara has confirmed the closure of its Swansea store, with staff being redeployed to Cardiff just before the holiday season.
Swansea: It’s a bummer for shoppers in Swansea! Zara, one of the city’s favorite clothing spots, has closed its doors right before Christmas. The store on Princess Way was a go-to for many, and now it’s all boarded up.
The closure comes after the lease ended, and the last day of trading was December 2. Some staff have been offered jobs at other Zara locations, with a few heading to Cardiff. It’s a bit of a mixed bag for the employees.
People were already buzzing about the store’s future back in October, and a petition against the closure even got 681 signatures. That shows how much the store meant to the community!
A Zara spokesperson confirmed the news, saying they’ve offered positions to all employees. Plus, with the new Pull & Bear opening in Cardiff, there are even more job opportunities in the area. It’s a tough time for retail, but hopefully, the staff will find their footing soon.
