A tragic accident involving a Lamborghini near Derby has left one man dead and another seriously injured, causing major traffic disruptions.
Derby: A young man lost his life in a crash that shut down a major road for hours. The A38 was closed for 11 hours after the accident early this morning.
The crash involved a green Lamborghini Urus and happened near Mickleover Golf Club around 2:45 AM. Sadly, the driver, in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was also a woman in the car, also in her 20s, who suffered serious injuries. She was rushed to the hospital and is still being treated. The road closure caused quite a mess for commuters.
Traffic was backed up for ages, especially during the morning rush hour. The southbound lane reopened around 6:30 AM, but the northbound side didn’t clear until 2 PM.
Police are asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. A spokesperson said, “The driver of the Lamborghini was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed, and our thoughts are with them.”
