A 22-year-old man was assaulted in Glasgow, facing racial abuse and violence on his way home from work
Glasgow: A young guy just got home from work when he faced a nasty attack. This 22-year-old was walking back to the Gorbals area when some woman went off on him.
It was around 9:30 PM on a Friday night, and he was just minding his own business. Out of nowhere, he got punched multiple times and even spat on. To make things worse, she poured a can of cider all over him, which is a big deal since he doesn’t drink because of his faith.
His mom is furious and wants the police to catch this woman. She’s worried that if they do, she might just get a light punishment. She shared how her son was called all sorts of racist names during the attack.
When he got home, he was drenched and really upset. His mom said he was just a mess, and it broke her heart to see him like that. He even lost his glasses during the fight. They checked with neighbors to see if anyone had caught the incident on their doorbell cameras.
The attacker is described as a white woman in her 20s with thin brown hair, wearing thick glasses and a puffy jacket. She was shouting and being aggressive, not just at him but at other houses too.
His mom has lived in the area for over 20 years and said she’s never seen anything like this. Now, she’s worried about her kids’ safety and feels like she has to keep an eye on them all the time.
Her son is usually calm and not the type to fight back, but he didn’t want to hit her because she was a woman. He’s never even touched alcohol, so this whole thing is just crazy for him.
She’s really concerned that the police won’t take this seriously and that the attacker will just get a slap on the wrist. She’s asking anyone who might have seen something or has video footage to come forward.
Police Scotland is looking into the incident, and they confirmed they received a report about the assault. They’re still gathering information.
