Black Bart, a wrestling icon, has died at 76 after stopping cancer treatment, leaving his fate in God’s hands
Texas: It’s a sad day for wrestling fans. Black Bart, the legendary wrestler, has passed away at 76. He had been fighting colon cancer, which was diagnosed in 2022. Sadly, it was already at stage four when they found it.
His family shared that he decided to stop chemotherapy last month. They mentioned that the treatment was causing him more harm than good. It’s tough to hear, but he felt it was time to leave it in God’s hands.
Just yesterday, his wife Linda shared the heartbreaking news. She said, “He was my husband Ricky,” and that he was pronounced dead early in the morning. It’s clear he was loved deeply.
Fellow wrestler John Bradshaw Layfield also paid tribute, recalling how Bart mentored him in the ring. Their bond went beyond wrestling; they were true friends.
Black Bart had a remarkable career, especially with the National Wrestling Alliance, where he won multiple championships. His last match was in 1999, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of fans and wrestlers alike.
