Wrexham: The club is making headlines with a potential £2m move for Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle. With the January transfer window now open, they’re looking to boost their squad.

The Red Dragons are in a bit of a tussle with Huddersfield Town for the 27-year-old striker. Hardie has been with Plymouth since 2020, racking up 64 goals in 230 games. He’s played a big part in their rise from League Two to the Championship.

This season hasn’t been easy for Plymouth, though. They’re sitting at the bottom of the Championship and just sacked their manager, Wayne Rooney. Hardie has only scored once this season, but Wrexham sees potential in him to help with their promotion push.

Wrexham is currently third in League One, but they just lost to Barnsley. Their owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, might need to dig deep into their pockets for this signing. Hardie’s price tag is more than triple what they paid for their current record signing, Mo Faal.

Despite some struggles in front of goal this season, Wrexham is determined to strengthen their attack. Their top scorer, Jack Marriott, has been out with a broken leg, and other forwards have had their own issues.

Wrexham has also been linked with other strikers, like Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford and Bristol City’s Harry Cornick. It’s an exciting time for the club as they look to make some big moves in January.
