Bloor Homes kicks off construction of a new sports pavilion for Tewkesbury Colts FC as part of a larger housing project
Tewkesbury: So, Bloor Homes is really getting things rolling with their new ‘Tewkesbury Meadow’ project. They’re building a cool new sports pavilion for the Tewkesbury Colts Football Club, which is super exciting for the community.
They had a little gathering at the site with folks from the local football club and some councillors to celebrate the start of this project. It’s part of a bigger plan that includes 238 new homes, set to launch in Summer 2025.
Along with the homes, they’re also adding over 3.5 acres of playing fields for the Colts. That’s part of the 18 acres of public space they’re planning for the whole area. Sounds like a great deal for everyone!
The new fields will be right next to the sports pavilion, which is being developed with input from various local groups. It’ll have changing rooms, a community hall, and even a catering area. Plus, there’s a dedicated car park, which is always a bonus.
Paul Moseley, the Vice Chair of Tewkesbury Colts FC, shared his excitement about the new facilities. He believes it’s going to be a huge win for the community, and they can’t wait to move in next summer.
On top of that, the developers are planning some eco-friendly features like new hedgerows, a wildflower meadow, and a community orchard. They’re really focused on boosting local biodiversity, which is awesome.
Steve Roberts, the Managing Director for Bloor Homes’ Western region, mentioned how important it is to have a home for junior football in Tewkesbury. He’s thrilled to kick off this new chapter for the Colts and the community.
They’re also keen on keeping the community involved in the development process. It’s all about making sure they’re building what the town really needs. They’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the new spaces when they open next summer.
