Stoke-on-Trent: Exciting things are happening with the Goods Yard project! They’re kicking off work on a new public square and some lovely green spaces. This £60 million development is being led by Capital&Centric, and it’s all about transforming an old industrial site into a welcoming spot for everyone.

They’re planning a big lawn, about the size of a tennis court, and a nice walkway surrounded by plants and trees. It’s going to be a great place to hang out, with seating and areas for pop-up markets or live music. Imagine chilling with friends in a vibrant space!

And get this, you’ll even be able to look through glass floors into the Vaults Warehouse below. This place used to store goods, but soon it’ll be buzzing with life as a social hub and foodie spot. Plus, they’re sprucing up the canal area for outdoor dining and drinks, making it super easy to get to the nearby railway station.

They’re aiming to open this neighborhood in spring 2025, just in time for Stoke-on-Trent’s Centenary celebrations. Capital&Centric is on the hunt for independent businesses to fill the commercial spaces, so there’ll be plenty of options for bars, cafes, and shops.

Tom Wilmot from Capital&Centric shared how much love and effort has gone into this project. He’s excited about the green spaces being open for everyone. They’re also looking for the right mix of businesses to really bring the area to life.

And if you’re a business owner looking to start or expand, now’s your chance to get involved! They’ve even signed a lease for residential apartments at the site, which is a big step forward.

Councillor Finlay Gordon-McCusker praised the project, highlighting how it’s on track despite some tough economic times. He’s thrilled about the opportunities it’ll create for locals and can’t wait to announce the first businesses and residents moving in.

With spaces like the Vaults Warehouse and new workspaces, Goods Yard is shaping up to be a fantastic addition to Stoke-on-Trent. Keep an eye out for more updates!
