Her lawyer said she was just in a bad place and lost her temper. Phelan used to work but is now on Universal Credit, dealing with some personal issues.
The judge wasn’t having any of it, though. He told her that her actions were a gross overreaction and that being drunk didn’t excuse the damage she caused. In the end, she got a one-year community order and has to pay £500 in compensation.
