Litherland: So, there’s this amazing story about Becky Saunders. She had this lightbulb moment while at work, just glancing at her friend’s phone. It hit her that her food reviews were actually popular. Fast forward, and now she runs Get Reviewed Liverpool, an Instagram and TikTok channel that highlights the best local restaurants, takeaways, and fun spots around Merseyside.

Becky started this whole thing about five years ago, and it’s taken off! She’s got over 27,000 followers on Instagram. After lockdown, people were eager to explore local businesses again, and her channel was right there to help. It all began when she realized her friend was watching her food reviews. That sparked the idea to create a dedicated page for her reviews.

During lockdown, she was busy trying out cakes and brownies from local shops and sharing her thoughts. As restrictions eased, she ventured out to restaurants, showing everyone how safe it was to dine out. She was out eating multiple times a week, posting videos every night at 7 PM, which really boosted her follower count.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. With all that eating out, Becky started to feel a bit down about her weight and mental health. Then, a personal trainer named Amy reached out to her. At first, Becky was skeptical about losing weight while still enjoying her food adventures. But she decided to give it a shot and joined Amy’s early morning classes.

Becky also made a big change by cutting out alcohol during the week, which helped her feel better. She started losing weight and realized there’s a balance to be found. Now, she’s still getting up for those 6 AM workouts and pushing herself, even with a busy schedule.

On top of all this, Becky launched Get Dating, a project for singles who aren’t fans of dating apps. She’s organizing meet-ups, starting with a walk in Sefton Park and a bar event in Liverpool. The feedback has been great, and she’s excited to plan more.

Becky is just amazed at how far Get Reviewed Liverpool has come. She never imagined it would grow this much. It’s a proud moment for her, meeting local business owners and sharing their stories. If you want to check it out, just search for Get Reviewed Liverpool on Instagram or TikTok!
