Caernarfon: A 25-year-old woman faced court this week. Rhiannon Evans sent videos of herself farting to her boyfriend’s ex. She thought it was funny, but the police did not.

Evans, a shopworker, pleaded guilty to harassment. She sent multiple WhatsApp videos to Deborah Prytherch, her boyfriend’s ex-partner. The first video showed her passing gas while filming her bottom.

On December 22, she sent three more videos. Over the next few days, she sent four additional videos, all showing her smiling while passing wind. Even after police got involved, she continued sending them on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Prosecutor Diane Williams shared the victim’s feelings. Deborah wanted to feel safe in her home. Evans was arrested at her house. She admitted to sending the videos, claiming she wanted to defend her partner.

Evans’s defense attorney mentioned issues between her partner and his ex regarding child contact. She had been drinking when she sent the videos and didn’t mean to cause distress.

The court learned Evans had mental health issues and a tough upbringing. She received a 12-month community order, 15 rehabilitation sessions, and a two-year restraining order.

Evans must pay £100 in compensation and £199 in costs. She cannot contact the victim again. A probation officer noted there was “bad blood” between Evans and her boyfriend’s ex.
