Stoke-on-Trent: So, there was this really scary incident where a woman barged into an elderly lady’s home. It happened just before Christmas, which makes it even worse. The poor woman had just come back from grocery shopping with her grandkids when this stranger followed her inside.

Can you believe it? The intruder started grabbing food from the lady’s pockets and then snatched her handbag! The elderly woman tried to chase after her, but she was unsteady on her feet. Her granddaughter was screaming, which must have been terrifying.

The thief made off with the handbag, cash, a mobile phone, and even the lady’s gas and electric top-up cards. Now, the poor woman is left worrying about how to heat her home without those cards. It’s just awful.

After the incident, the family reached out on Facebook for help, and a local fast-food place stepped up to provide them with a food parcel. They even managed to get some CCTV footage of the suspect, but they can’t share it publicly due to legal reasons.

Staffordshire Police are on the case and are asking anyone who saw anything to come forward. They were called to the scene shortly after the burglary happened. The suspect even had the nerve to eat some chocolates from the counter before leaving!

Later that day, the handbag was returned, but the cash and bank cards were gone. If anyone has information, they should definitely contact the police. It’s just a shame that people can be so heartless, especially during the holidays.
