Harrow: A woman has been sentenced for a shocking attack on a transgender teen. It all went down at a roller disco last year. The victim was lured there and then stabbed nine times by a group of masked attackers.

The woman, Summer Betts-Ramsey, was just 18 at the time. She didn’t just stab the victim; she also punched and kicked her while others joined in. It was a brutal scene, and they even filmed it to brag about later.

In court, it was revealed that the attack stemmed from a twisted sense of revenge. The group was upset after finding out the victim had lied about her gender identity. They confronted her, and things escalated quickly.

After the attack, Betts-Ramsey told a friend that the victim “deserved it.” The judge called the whole thing “abhorrent” and sentenced her to eight and a half years in youth detention.

Three other young men involved got three years each, while a 17-year-old received a rehabilitation order. The victim, thankfully, survived thanks to some bystanders who stepped in.

She’s been left with deep scars and has been struggling with panic attacks and sleep issues since the incident. It’s a tough road ahead for her, especially with her dreams of modeling now in jeopardy.

Detective Inspector Nicola Hannant, who led the case, described the attack as premeditated and motivated by the victim’s transgender identity. It’s a grim reminder of the violence that can stem from hate.
