Leicester: A woman got hurt when a shoplifter kicked a door right into her face. She was just trying to stop him from stealing stuff at the D&R store.
The guy, Olan Easingwood, walked in with a buddy and started stuffing detergents into a bag. The woman recognized them from a previous shoplifting incident and tried to intervene.
She called the police and went to lock the door, but Easingwood kicked it, and it swung back, hitting her in the forehead. Ouch! She ended up with a bleeding gash.
In court, it came out that Easingwood had a history of theft, with ten shoplifting charges against him. He was also using crack cocaine and living on the streets.
He and his crew had stolen over £1,300 worth of goods from various stores, including D&R and Iceland. They even threatened staff with a hot cup of coffee when caught.
After pleading guilty to all charges, Easingwood was sentenced to eight months in youth custody, but it was suspended for 18 months. He’s also got to do some probation and drug rehab.
The victim, who was taken to the hospital, said she felt sick and in pain after the incident. She mentioned how Easingwood didn’t care about her, just focused on stealing.
