A woman has been arrested following an arson attack in north Belfast that endangered three residents
Belfast: Earlier today, police were called to a reported arson attack in north Belfast. It happened on Friday, January 3rd, just before noon.
Detectives got a call saying someone had poured petrol through the letterbox of a house in Ashfield Court and then set it on fire. Thankfully, the door was the only thing that got damaged.
Three people were inside the house at the time. Luckily, they acted quickly and managed to put out the fire before it could spread. That was a close call!
It seems this incident followed a fight that happened nearby not long before. Police are asking anyone who saw what went down to reach out to them.
They’ve arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of several offenses, including arson with intent to endanger life. She’s currently in custody.
The PSNI has urged anyone with information to call 101 and mention reference 566 of 03/01/25. You can also report online or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
