A delightful chocolate-making workshop and shop is set to open in Grimsby, offering fun experiences for all ages and abilities
Grimsby: A new chocolate-making workshop and shop is about to open its doors this weekend. Lab Cocoa is moving from Laceby to a vibrant new spot on St Nicholas Drive. It’s like stepping into a chocolate wonderland!
Trace Clay, the creative mind behind this venture, is super excited. She’s been busy setting up the space, making it welcoming for everyone, including those with disabilities. The grand opening kicks off at 10 am on Saturday, and it promises to be a blast.
Trace’s journey started with her first shop, The Chocolat Story, back in 2017. She fell in love with chocolate and its science, and now she’s ready to share that passion. The new Lab Cocoa will offer both pre-booked and walk-in workshops, ensuring no one feels left out.
She’s made sure the place is wheelchair accessible, so everyone can join in the fun. The decor is whimsical, with bright colors and even a sensory sprinkle station that sounds like a kid’s dream come true!
Trace’s love for chocolate began during a family Christmas dinner where she made desserts. That sparked her interest, and during the lockdown, she started creating chocolate-making kits for her grandkids. Now, it’s blossomed into this amazing workshop.
At Lab Cocoa, kids can learn how to make their own Easter eggs, from painting the molds to filling them with chocolate. It’s not just about making sweets; it’s an educational experience too!
The shop will be open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday during term time, and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during school holidays. It’s going to be a sweet spot for everyone!
