Stoke-on-Trent: A guy named Jake Hammersley, 32, just got locked up for a brutal attack on his pregnant girlfriend. He lured her to a quiet spot and then punched her in the stomach. Can you believe that?

It all went down at Park Hall Country Park. Hammersley, who was drunk, started off acting nice but quickly turned nasty, calling her all sorts of names. A friend who was there tried to intervene, but Hammersley just got more aggressive. He even bit her ear before hitting her.

The poor woman managed to escape and called for help, but the dog walker she reached out to didn’t have a phone. Hammersley then jumped in his car and tried to drag her back in, hitting her again. She was only 13 weeks pregnant at the time, which makes it even worse.

This guy has a long history of trouble with the law, with 35 previous convictions. He pleaded guilty to assault and breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order. His lawyer mentioned that he’s been through a lot, losing family members and struggling with alcohol, but that doesn’t excuse his actions.

The judge didn’t hold back, calling him a violent bully and emphasizing how dangerous he is to women, especially vulnerable ones like his girlfriend. It’s a stark reminder of how serious domestic violence is and why we need to keep speaking out against it.
