Drivers should prepare for a three-night closure of an access road to a Merseyside tunnel due to essential maintenance work
They’ve decided to do this work overnight, from Monday, January 13 to Wednesday, January 15, starting at 8 PM and wrapping up by 5:50 AM. The good news is that other access roads to the tunnel will still be open during this time.
This closure mainly affects traffic heading towards Liverpool. Rachel Endfield, the Customer Operations Area Manager at Cadent, mentioned they’re trying to keep disruptions to a minimum. They’ll be working while most of us are asleep, so the flyover will be back open for the busy morning rush hour.
If you’re worried about getting to the tunnel, don’t stress! There are plenty of other routes, and they’ll have signs up to guide you. Plus, your gas supply won’t be affected at all during this work, so no need to panic about that.
Just a heads up, if you happen to smell gas, don’t assume it’s related to this work. It could be something else, and you should call the gas emergency service at 0800 111 999 right away. They’re available 24/7, and all calls are recorded. Stay safe out there!
