Regan Grace has officially signed with Cardiff Rugby, bringing his skills to the team as they face injury challenges.
Cardiff: So, Regan Grace has just signed with Cardiff Rugby, and it’s happening right now! The team really needed some fresh talent since a bunch of their players are out with injuries.
Grace, who’s 28, has jumped on board until the end of the season and started training with the squad just this Monday. He’s got a bit of a background in rugby league, having played for Wales in a summer match against the Queensland Reds, where he even scored his first try.
Before this, he was with Racing 92 in France but didn’t get to play there due to a nasty Achilles injury. He then moved to Bath in the English Premiership to recover. Interestingly, he wasn’t part of Bath’s recent game against Northampton Saints, and news of his move to Cardiff broke shortly after that match.
Grace is all set to play in the upcoming European Challenge Cup match against Perpignan. He’s pretty excited about joining Cardiff, calling it a big, historical club with a rich legacy. He’s keen to play on home soil and follow in the footsteps of some legendary players.
He knows there’s stiff competition in the team, especially with players like Josh Adams, who’s a British Lion and a consistent performer for Wales. Grace is looking forward to learning from everyone and just wants to get on the field and play regularly.
During his rugby league days, he was quite the star, scoring 88 tries in 142 games for St Helens. Now that he’s back in Wales, he’s hoping to catch the eye of Warren Gatland ahead of the Six Nations.
Cardiff’s head coach, Matt Sherratt, is thrilled about Grace joining the club. He believes Regan is a fantastic addition and has heard nothing but great things about him. Sherratt is excited to see how Grace continues to grow in rugby union.
