Leon Brown, the talented prop from Wales, has announced his retirement from rugby due to ongoing injury issues
Newport: So, Leon Brown has decided to hang up his boots at just 28. It’s a bummer, really. He was a solid player for Wales and the Dragons, but injuries just wouldn’t let him be.
He played 24 times for Wales and had a decent run with the Dragons, racking up 74 appearances and scoring five tries. But man, those injuries were relentless. He had three surgeries in the last few seasons, and it sounds like his neck finally said, “Enough is enough.”
Leon shared some heartfelt thoughts about his career, saying he’s got no regrets, even if it didn’t last as long as he wanted. He’s grateful for all the support he’s received from teammates and fans alike. It’s clear he really cherished his time with the Dragons.
His coach, Filo Tiatia, expressed how much they’ll miss him but totally gets why he made this choice. Leon was a big part of the team and a real success story from their Academy. It’s tough to see him go, but everyone wishes him the best for whatever comes next.
