London: Voting has started for a new £100,000 fund. This fund will support important community projects across the UK. Grants of £2,500, £1,000, and £500 will be awarded to 65 groups and individuals making a difference.

Anyone can vote for their favorite projects. These projects were shortlisted from nearly 2,000 nominations. The fund builds on the Pride of Britain awards, celebrating unsung heroes for over 25 years.

Michelle Linaker, a trustee of the Pride of Britain Fund, shared her excitement. She said it’s inspiring to see people making a difference in their communities. She encourages everyone to vote for their favorite nominees.

To vote, you need to provide your name and email. You can vote for one nominee from each region, including Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The public voting runs for four weeks, from 9 am on February 3 to 11:45 pm on March 2, 2025. Results will be announced a week later.

Darren Fisher, chair of the board of trustees, emphasized the importance of public choice. The fund aims to reward local heroes who truly impact their communities.

There will be 65 winners, with the £100,000 divided regionally for maximum impact. Here’s how the grants will be distributed:

  • £2,500 for the top two in each of the nine regions
  • £2,500 for the 12 projects with the highest votes across all regions
  • £1,000 for the next 15 projects with the highest votes
  • £500 for the next 20 projects with the highest votes
