Over 100 volunteers joined forces to clean up Westward Ho! beach, making a positive impact on their community.
Bideford: Recently, over 100 volunteers came together for a big beach clean-up at Westward Ho! It was a fantastic sight, with families, players, and even McDonald’s crew members pitching in.
The team from the local McDonald’s, led by franchisee David Shawyer, collected more than 15 bags of rubbish. It’s amazing how much litter can pile up, right?
David was really proud of his crew. He said it felt great to help the community and keep the beach clean for everyone to enjoy. Plus, having the Bideford AFC youth teams join in made it even better.
This partnership between the restaurant and the youth teams has been going strong for a while now. They’ve donated over £1,000 worth of equipment for the upcoming season, which is pretty cool.
Did you know that McDonald’s has been cleaning up litter for over 35 years? They cover about 5,000 miles each week picking up trash. That’s like going to the Moon and back!
McDonald’s is also working hard to reduce waste. They’ve made recycling easier in their restaurants and even turn used cooking oil into biodiesel for their delivery trucks. It’s all about making a difference!
