Brynamman: It’s wild what’s happening in Wales. Someone’s been chopping down speed cameras on a road known for accidents. These cameras cost a whopping £250,000 to put up, and they were installed to help keep folks safe. But now, they’re getting wrecked with power tools.

This all went down on the A4069 Black Mountain Pass, a road that’s super popular with drivers and bikers because of its stunning views. It’s even been on Top Gear! But sadly, it’s also seen three fatalities and many injuries over the last decade.

The cameras were only put in last year, and it seems some drivers weren’t too happy about it. They thought the local council was just trying to cash in. But the police say these cameras are crucial for safety, especially since there haven’t been any injuries reported since they went up.

Now, the damage is going to cost around £180,000 to fix. The police are asking anyone who knows anything about this vandalism to come forward. It’s a shame that a few people’s actions could put others at risk on this road.
