Residents are outraged after vandals damaged play areas in Bridgwater, leaving children without safe places to play.
Bridgwater: Recently, several parks in Bridgwater have been hit by vandalism, and it’s really upsetting. Kids can’t use the play equipment anymore because it’s been damaged beyond use.
The Northgate Yard, Victoria Park, and Gloucester Road play areas were specifically targeted. The town council is asking everyone to keep an eye out and report anything suspicious.
Scott Mason from the council mentioned that their team is already looking into the damage and will fix things up. It’s frustrating how a few people can ruin it for everyone else.
He added that vandalism not only wrecks the facilities but also takes away resources that could be used to make the community better.
They’re eager to get the parks back in shape and are asking for the community’s help in keeping an eye on things. They’re also teaming up with the CCTV crew to check for any footage of the culprits.
Councillor Tim Mander expressed his disappointment over these senseless acts. He emphasized how hard the Open Spaces team works to keep the parks clean and safe for everyone.
It’s a shame that some people don’t appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining these spaces.
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police, and they’ve provided specific crime numbers for each park to help with the investigation.
