The Us Girls event in Pembrokeshire offered girls a fun way to explore new sports and find their passion.
Haverfordwest: Recently, dozens of girls had a blast trying out different sports in Pembrokeshire. The Us Girls event was a collaboration between Sport Pembrokeshire and local community clubs.
It took place at Ysgol Caer Elen and was open to girls in school years 7 and 8 from both Caer Elen and Haverfordwest High VC. A total of 37 girls got to dive into eight different activities.
These activities were organized by various local clubs, including FF Dancers, Haverfordwest County Football Club, and more. The goal was to introduce the girls to new sports and hopefully spark some new interests.
Young ambassadors from Haverfordwest High VC helped out with the activities, making it a real community effort. Local businesses also pitched in to support the event.
Dan Bellis, the active young people officer at Sport Pembrokeshire, shared how fantastic the morning was. He loved seeing all the girls engaged and having fun with the activities.
He also expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make the event a success, including local businesses like Princes Gate, Morrisons, and Boots, who provided refreshments and goodies.
