Gloucestershire: There’s a big problem with flooding on the B4215 road. This road connects Gloucester and Newent, but it often floods near Malswick Mill.

Sometimes, the flooding is so bad that cars can’t pass. After Storm Éowyn, the flooding issue came up again. Now, local leaders in Newent want a permanent fix.

Councillor Julia Gooch has reached out to the highways officer about the flooding. She says it’s not right that Newent is almost cut off from its main routes.

She pointed out that the B4216 at Taynton has been flooded since November. The flooding at Malswick on the B4215 keeps happening, and it’s time for a solution.

Gloucestershire County Council is working on a plan to help with the flooding. They are teaming up with a landowner to create ditches at Malswick Mill.

Also, a special jetting lorry will clear blockages on the B4216 at Taynton. This will help drainage pipes work better. A council spokesperson said they know heavy rain has caused flooding in the area.

They are taking steps to clear blockages and let water drain from the road. They are also looking for more solutions to the flooding at Malswick Mill.
