Wales: It’s been a tough week with freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. The Met Office has shared weather maps showing just how cold it’ll get this weekend, with some areas hitting -5C on Friday. But don’t worry, it’s expected to warm up a bit, especially on Sunday.

On Saturday morning, expect lows of -3C in parts of Wales, but things should start to warm up as the day goes on. Friday was particularly chilly, and there was even a weather warning for ice.

Early Saturday will be especially cold in the north-east, with temperatures around -2C to -3C in Wrexham and north Powys, and even -4C near the border. But by 9am, Cardiff will be around 0C, and it’ll get a bit warmer as the day progresses.

By midday, we might even see some sunshine with temperatures reaching about 5C in some areas. The milder weather should stick around for Saturday, although it might drop a bit in the evening.

On Sunday morning, expect temperatures around 4C in Aberystwyth and 5C in Caernarfon. The north-east will still feel the chill with lows of 1C and even -1C, while the south-east will be a bit warmer.

By midday Sunday, things will look much better, with temperatures hitting 7C-8C along the west Wales coast. It’ll be a welcome change after such a cold spell!
