Fiddlers Elbow and Bredon Village chip shops shine in the UK’s top 50 list
Herefordshire: So, guess what? Two fish and chip shops from the West Midlands just made it to the top of the UK list! Fiddlers Elbow in Herefordshire and Bredon Village in Worcestershire are the stars of the show.
Every year, Fry Magazine puts out this awesome list of the best fish and chips in the country. And this year, it’s no different. But, surprise, surprise, no Birmingham chippy made the cut again. Still, Fiddlers Elbow is holding strong, staying on the list since 2019.
Fiddlers Elbow is a beloved spot in Leintwardine, Herefordshire. It’s been around since the 70s and has been run by Dominic Eusden and Linzi Morris since 2013. They don’t just serve fish; they’ve got vegetarian and vegan options too!
And let’s not forget about Bredon Village Fish and Chip Shop, which also made the list this year. It’s right on the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire border, making it a great spot for locals and visitors alike.
Fiddlers Elbow has a solid 4.5-star rating on Google Reviews, based on over 200 reviews. People are raving about it! One reviewer, Wyn, said it’s the best fish and chips they’ve ever had. Kathryn chimed in, praising the gluten-free options and friendly service.
Alison, who has coeliac disease, found it tough to find good fish and chips but was thrilled with Fiddlers Elbow. And Stefan drove an hour just to try it out, saying it was totally worth it. Fresh, hot food by the river? Sounds like a perfect day!
