Cardiff: I went to see Billy Joel at the Principality Stadium, and wow, what a night! I’ve loved his music since I was a kid, so this was a big deal for me.

My wife and I got there early, grabbed some food, and settled into our seats. The crowd was a mix of ages, but mostly folks in their 50s and older, just like us. It was cool to see younger fans too, probably brought along by their parents.

As the stadium filled up, I noticed a lot of people coming in late. It was a bit distracting, especially when they kept walking in front of us while trying to find their seats. I get it, though; it was just the opening act, and everyone was eager to grab drinks.

But then, as Billy Joel finally took the stage, the distractions didn’t stop. Some folks just couldn’t sit still! They kept getting up for more drinks or heading to the bathroom. It was like a parade of people, and I couldn’t help but wonder why they’d miss the show for a pint.

Even during the encore, some started leaving early. I mean, come on! Joel was giving it his all, and they were more focused on getting home early. It made me think about how different people enjoy concerts.

In the end, I realized there are two types of concertgoers: those who soak in every moment and those who prioritize other things. I know which type I am, and I’ll cherish the memories of that night forever. Billy Joel’s music is timeless, and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
