Two men have been fined and penalized for reckless driving showcased in YouTube videos from a Surrey car meet
Slough: So, here’s the scoop. Two guys just got hit with hefty fines after they were caught on YouTube showing off their reckless driving at a car meet. It all went down in Surrey, and the police were not amused.
Jake Crouch, 28, from Tunbridge Wells, and Alexander Mangion-Mackenzie, 36, from Gravesend, found themselves in hot water after their videos went viral. The police said the footage clearly showed them breaking a bunch of driving rules, like not having a front license plate and driving without proper control.
Surrey Police mentioned that most car meets are chill and don’t cause any trouble. But when folks start driving dangerously, they’ll step in and take action. And that’s exactly what happened here.
Both guys had to show up at Guildford Magistrates’ Court, where they faced the music. Crouch ended up with five points on his license, a £740 fine, and some extra costs. Mangion-Mackenzie got the same points but a slightly lower fine of £550.
It’s a classic case of thinking you can get away with something just because it’s on the internet. But the police are watching, and they’re ready to crack down when necessary.
