Hartlepool: So, there were these two drivers who got arrested after some pretty wild crashes on the A19. The road was closed for hours, which is a real hassle.

It all went down near Castle Eden on a Sunday morning. First, around 5am, an Audi hit a lamp post. While the cops were dealing with that, another crash happened. This time, a Toyota slammed into a parked police car and another lamp post. Talk about bad luck!

The Audi driver is still in the hospital with serious injuries, and both drivers are facing charges. Thankfully, no one else got hurt in all this chaos.

Durham Constabulary has since reopened the southbound lane. They’re asking anyone who saw what happened, or who might have seen the Audi before the crash, to come forward.

If you’ve got any info or dashcam footage, give the Collision Investigation Unit a call at 101 and mention incident reference number 44 from January 12. They’d really appreciate it!
