Two boys, aged 14 and 15, face charges for stealing a car and crashing it in Gelligaer on the same day
Ystrad Mynach: So, here’s the scoop. Two boys, one 15 and the other 14, got into some serious trouble. They stole a Volvo XC90 from Lewis Street and ended up crashing it in Gelligaer.
It all went down on September 30. The boys are set to appear in Cwmbran Youth Court on February 4. The older one, from Gelligaer, was nabbed for aggravated vehicle taking.
The younger lad, from Caldicot, didn’t just get caught for the theft. He’s also facing charges for causing over £5,000 in vehicle damage, dangerous driving, and driving without a license.
The crash involved six vehicles, including a Ford Transit van and a Volkswagen Beetle, plus a couple of parked cars. The police were quick to respond after the Volvo was reported stolen.
They found out about the crash later that same day. Both boys were charged and released on conditional bail. It’s a wild story, and it’s not over yet.
