Ramsbottom: A woman named Allicja Smith, just 20 years old, has been sentenced to 14 months in jail for making a false gun threat. She claimed a man she briefly dated pulled a gun on her, but it turned out to be a complete fabrication.

Smith told the police she went to the man’s house to pick up some things and saw a gun on the bed. She even claimed he pointed it at her, saying, “move or I’ll shoot.” But when detectives looked into it, they found her story didn’t add up.

She initially gave a fake name, Lacey Harrison, and said there was domestic abuse during their short relationship. This led to police guarding her home and the man being arrested. But the next day, when detectives came to her place, she couldn’t provide any real evidence of the gun.

Instead of a photo, she showed them a screenshot, and when they pressed her for the original, she got defensive and rude. It turned out the man she accused wasn’t even home when she said the incident happened.

He later told police he received threatening messages from her, including a picture of a machete. He had even used a photo of a gun as his profile picture as a warning. Smith was arrested for trying to mislead the police, and her phone records showed she was in a different location when the alleged threat occurred.

In court, her defense painted her as a troubled young woman with a difficult past. The judge expressed concern over her behavior, noting how irrational it was to accuse someone like that after such a brief relationship. Ultimately, he sentenced her to 14 months in a young offenders institute, hoping she finds a better path after her release.
