New research reveals Pembrokeshire has more noise complaints than major UK cities known for nightlife
Pembrokeshire: You won’t believe this, but it turns out Pembrokeshire is getting more noise complaints than some of the UK’s biggest cities! A recent study showed that this usually peaceful spot has recorded way more noise issues than places like Bristol and Glasgow, which are known for their nightlife.
The numbers are pretty surprising. Pembrokeshire had 18 complaints for every 10,000 residents, while Bristol had just 5.6. Even Glasgow, with its lively scene, only had 6.4. It seems like the quiet places we think of as holiday getaways are actually dealing with more noise than we expected.
Other rural areas like the Cotswolds and Cornwall also had higher complaints than Bristol. Nils Mattisson, the CEO of Minut, pointed out that noise isn’t just a city problem. It can really affect rural communities too, which is something we often overlook.
He mentioned how the peace and quiet of places like Pembrokeshire is a big draw for both locals and visitors. When that tranquility is disrupted, it can be a real bummer for everyone looking to relax.
Interestingly, while rural areas are seeing these complaints, London still takes the cake for the most noise disturbances. Islington, Kensington, and Chelsea are at the top of that list. Even cities like Manchester and Birmingham are quieter compared to London.
On the flip side, Somerset had the fewest complaints, with just 0.8 per 10,000 residents. So, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, that might be the place to go!
