A daughter mourns her mother, discovered dead in a restaurant toilet after three days, leaving family and friends heartbroken and searching for answers
Blackpool: A daughter is heartbroken after her mother was found dead in a restaurant toilet. Sabrina Marlynn Lyttle, 47, was discovered at The Gurkha Buffet Restaurant on November 30, three days after she went inside.
She was seen on CCTV entering the restaurant on November 28, but sadly, she never came out. It’s so tragic, especially since she had just been released from prison a day earlier.
For three days, no one knew she was there. The staff had no idea, and while they were serving customers, her body was just a few feet away. It’s hard to imagine how that could happen.
Jade Casey, Sabrina’s daughter, expressed her anger and sadness. She said customers had complained about the disabled toilet being locked, but they thought it was just a maintenance issue. When they finally checked, it was too late.
Jade shared her frustration, saying, “I’m angry because she could have been found sooner.” It’s heartbreaking to think about her being alone in there while people were dining nearby.
They still don’t know the cause of her death, and Jade worries that her mom might have needed help. It’s a tough situation, especially since Sabrina had struggled with addiction and homelessness for years.
Jade described her mom as funny and kind, despite her struggles. She just wanted to get warm after being released from prison, but no one knew she was in the toilet.
Police confirmed there were no drugs found at the scene. They were called to the restaurant on November 30, and sadly, they found Sabrina’s body. The investigation is ongoing, and the family is left searching for answers.
The restaurant has stated that they followed their procedures, but it’s hard to understand how this could happen. An inquest into Sabrina’s death is set for April 3 at Blackpool Town Hall.
