Norfolk: A former Harrow schoolboy, Henry Keith, lost his life after diving into the water following a night of heavy drinking. It’s such a sad story.

Henry, just 25, was a strong swimmer. But on that fateful night, he went for a late-night dip with a friend and didn’t come back up. They were at Wroxham Broad when it happened.

Earlier that day, Henry and his friend Sebastian had been shooting and started drinking at a local pub. They had a good time, but things took a tragic turn later on.

They were on a boat, enjoying music and drinks, having consumed quite a bit—five bottles of beer each, plus wine and vodka. A post-mortem showed Henry had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

When he decided to dive in headfirst, he didn’t resurface. Sebastian thought it was a prank at first, but panic set in when he realized something was wrong.

He called for help, and a massive search was launched. Sadly, Henry’s body was found two days later, just under the surface of the water.

During the inquest, Sebastian expressed his regret for not jumping in to save him. The coroner concluded it was an accident but noted the mystery of how a strong swimmer like Henry could drown.

Henry’s family shared their heartbreak, saying his loss has left a huge void in their lives. They remembered him as a caring and cheerful young man with a bright future.

They also thanked the emergency services for their relentless efforts in the search. It’s a tragic reminder of how quickly things can change.
