Edinburgh: A sad event unfolded when a man fell ill on a bus in the city. It happened around 5:30 PM on Saturday, January 11.

Police rushed to Greenside Place after getting reports about the situation. Sadly, the 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland mentioned that they received the call about the man’s condition. They confirmed that emergency services were on-site but couldn’t save him.

While the cause of death is still unclear, authorities don’t suspect any foul play. They’ll be sending a report to the Procurator Fiscal for further investigation.

During this time, Edinburgh Trams warned travelers heading to the airport about possible delays. Lothian Buses also advised passengers to expect diversions around Leith Street.

They noted that due to a road closure, buses couldn’t serve Leith Street and were being rerouted via Montrose Terrace and Waterloo Place until further notice.
