Leicester: So, there’s some roadwork happening on Duns Lane. They’re putting in new cycle lanes and sprucing up the footpaths. It’s going to take about 12 weeks, starting today.

During this time, traffic will only flow one way, heading towards St Augustine Road. They’ll have signs up to help drivers find their way around. Don’t worry, though; local businesses will still be open as usual.

Geoff Whittle, the assistant city mayor, mentioned that this project is all about making it easier for folks to walk, bike, or use wheelchairs. It’s part of a bigger plan to create friendlier routes around Braunstone Gate and De Montfort University.

Oh, and the whole thing is going to cost around £600,000, funded by the Connecting Leicester program with some help from the Department for Transport. Sounds like a good step towards better transport options!
