London: So, Trafalgar Square and a bunch of major roads in central London are closed for five days. It’s going to be a bit of a mess, and the council is telling everyone to steer clear if they can.

The closures kicked off today and will last until Friday. They’re working from 8 in the morning until 10 at night, but the roads will be shut the whole time. So, if you’re planning to drive through, think again!

Westminster City Council is doing some resurfacing work on the roads. They’ve mentioned that everything depends on the weather, and they’ve got January 11 as a backup just in case they need more time.

Drivers have been warned that it’s going to be super busy while the closures are happening. Seriously, if you can avoid the area, it’s probably a good idea.

The work will close off Trafalgar Square and some surrounding roads in four stages. Here’s how it’s going down:

Monday 6 Jan – Northumberland Ave, Whitehall

Tuesday 7 Jan – The Mall Cockspur St. (Westbound)

Wednesday 8 Jan – Cockspur St. (Eastbound) Charing Cross Road

Thursday 9 Jan – Strand, Northumberland Avenue

Friday 10 Jan (TfL only) – Strand Northumberland Avenue
