A heartfelt tribute to Jay Slater, whose hoodies were transformed into cushions by his mother after his tragic passing in Tenerife
Oswaldtwistle: Jay Slater’s mom, Debbie, has created a beautiful tribute to her son. She turned his favorite hoodies into cushions after he was found dead in Tenerife last year.
Debbie’s request really touched the owner of Handmade With Love in Oswaldtwistle. They shared photos of the cushions made from Jay’s Nike, Under Armour, and Hugo Boss hoodies on Facebook.
The owner expressed how honored they felt to make these cushions, hoping they would bring comfort to everyone who received them. Each cushion even had a personalized memory patch attached.
People on social media were moved by the cushions. One person mentioned wanting something similar made from their son’s hoodies, while another shared their heartfelt condolences.
Jay’s remains were discovered near Masca in July after he went missing following a music festival. The Spanish Civil Guard indicated he might have fallen in a steep area.
After confirming his identity, Debbie shared her heartbreak, saying she couldn’t believe this happened to her beautiful boy. Jay’s friend Lucy also paid tribute, remembering him as the happiest person in the room.
It’s a tough situation, but these cushions are a lovely way to keep Jay’s memory alive.
