The Torch Theatre marks a successful year with its panto and community engagement
Haverfordwest: The Torch Theatre is buzzing after a fantastic 2024. They just wrapped up their Christmas panto, “Jack and the Beanstalk,” and it was a hit!
Thanks to the Arts Council of Wales’ Go and See Fund, loads of schools came to enjoy the show. It was great to see so many kids experiencing live theatre for the first time.
They even ran a fun competition called “Giant’s Golden Object,” and the winner was a cool Golden Croc designed by Jac from Haverfordwest High School. How awesome is that?
Tim Howe, who works with youth and community programs at the theatre, shared how amazing it was to see so many young faces in the audience. He believes panto is a special way for kids to connect with theatre.
Chelsey Gillard, the artistic director, expressed gratitude for the community’s support. She mentioned that the generosity of the audience has allowed them to do even more with their shows and community projects.
Looking ahead, they’re already gearing up for their 2025 panto, “Rapunzel.” Early bird tickets are available now, so if you’re interested, grab them while you can!
