Omer Riza hints at potential departures for Collins and Kanga as Cardiff City eyes new signings this January
Cardiff: Here’s the latest buzz from Cardiff City on January 16. Omer Riza, the manager, is keeping things interesting regarding Jamilu Collins and Wilfried Kanga. He didn’t completely rule out their exits this month.
Collins hasn’t played since late November, and it seems he’s not in Riza’s plans. Riza mentioned that if Collins finds a new club, it could happen soon. They haven’t received any formal offers yet, though.
On the other hand, Kanga might be on his way out sooner rather than later. Cardiff is looking to bring in striker Yousef Salech, which means Kanga could return to Hertha BSC. Reports suggest Dinamo Zagreb is ready to pay around £2.5 million for him.
Riza said there’s a lot happening with transfers, but he can’t confirm anything just yet. It sounds like there could be some movement soon.
In other news, Ryotaro Tsunoda is back on the pitch after a long injury lay-off. He’s been loaned to KV Kortrijk and played a full match recently. He’s feeling good and surprised himself with how well he performed.
Riza also had a word of caution for his players ahead of the South Wales derby. He stressed the importance of staying disciplined and having all 11 players on the pitch. The team has struggled with red cards in the past, and Riza wants to avoid that this time.
He’s confident in the squad’s togetherness and work ethic, hoping they can bring their best game to the derby.
