Welsh coaches are in the spotlight for Lions roles as a rugby star escapes the UK amid serious charges
Bradford: So, there’s a lot happening in the rugby world today. First off, some Welsh coaches are being tipped for roles with the Lions. Brian Moore, a former England player, thinks Andy Farrell should consider coaches from different nations for the upcoming tour to Australia. He’s planning to check out players and coaches over the next few months.
Moore mentioned some Welsh candidates who have experience with the Lions. He thinks Paul O’Connell would be a great choice for forwards coach, but there’s a question of whether Ireland’s temporary head coach, Simon Easterby, would want him around. Other names like Graham Rowntree and Robin McBryde are also in the mix.
On a different note, rugby league player Keven Appo has reportedly fled the UK after being charged with some serious offenses, including rape. He was out on bail but took off to Dubai and then back to Papua New Guinea. Now, there’s an arrest warrant out for him, and the police are working on extraditing him back to the UK.
In other news, England’s Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is out of the Six Nations after opting for shoulder surgery. He was initially hoping to avoid surgery, but it turns out his injury was worse than he thought. He’s going to be sidelined for about 12 weeks.
Lastly, Mack Hansen from Ireland is waiting to hear about the consequences of his comments about match officials after a tough loss. He expressed his frustration, saying it felt like they were playing against more than just the opposing team. The URC is looking into his remarks, which could lead to some disciplinary action.
