A man brutally assaulted his uncle with a shovel, leaving him injured and scarred in Hartlepool
Hartlepool: A shocking incident unfolded when Spencer Fairhurst, 31, attacked his uncle with a shovel. It all started with a heated moment outside their grandmother’s house.
Fairhurst yelled, “you’re f***ing getting it,” before striking his uncle multiple times. The poor guy fell, smashing his glasses and bleeding heavily. It was a brutal scene.
After the initial attack, the uncle tried to escape inside, but Fairhurst followed him and continued to punch him. It was only when their grandmother yelled that he finally stopped.
The court learned that these two hadn’t seen each other in about 20 years. They had just reunited to help with some home decorating when things took a dark turn.
Fairhurst had even grabbed a kitchen knife before heading outside for the shovel. It’s wild how quickly things escalated. The uncle, a district nurse, is now dealing with panic attacks and physical pain from the assault.
He’s left with a scar on his forehead and a cracked tooth, and he’s in the process of being medically retired. The judge has postponed the case until March 10, giving Fairhurst bail for now.
It’s a tough situation for everyone involved, and it’s hard to believe it all started with a family gathering.
