London: Three has sent out a heads-up to millions of its mobile customers about some upcoming bill increases. If you signed up with them after September 8, 2024, expect your bill to go up this April by £1 to £1.50 a month, depending on your data plan.

So, if you have a 4GB plan, your bill will rise by £1. If you’re on a plan with 5GB to 99GB, it’ll go up by £1.25. And for those with 100GB or more, it’s £1.50. If you’re a broadband customer, the increase is capped at £2 a month. For those who joined or renewed between November 1, 2022, and September 7, 2024, the rise will be 6.4 percent.

For customers who signed up between October 29, 2020, and October 31, 2022, the increase is 4.5 percent. But if you joined on or before May 28, 2015, and haven’t upgraded, you’re in the clear with no price hike.

Three mentioned they’ll reach out to you via SMS, email, or letter to remind you about the increase and when it kicks in. They’ll explain how much your bill will go up based on when you started your contract.

They also noted that if you have multiple contracts, each might see different increases based on their start dates. Like many other mobile providers, Three’s Pay Monthly plans are subject to annual price changes due to inflation, energy costs, and other business expenses.

They’ve designed this new pricing to be fair, adjusting increases based on your data allowance instead of applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Despite these changes, Three claims their prices are still competitive, and they offer support options for customers who might be struggling financially.
