Police arrested three individuals for serious violence in Coventry during a day-long operation targeting crime hotspots.
Coventry: Police had a busy day cracking down on crime. They made several arrests across the city, focusing on areas like Earlsdon and Foleshill.
Officers from the North East SNT arrested four people. One man was suspected of stealing from shops in Longford, Stoke, and Wyken. Three others were arrested for serious youth violence.
Police patrolled popular shopping spots like Warwickshire Shopping Park and Gallagher Retail Park. They also conducted 12 stop-and-searches, finding a small amount of cannabis.
Teams targeted vehicle crime areas and worked with the WMP Traffic Unit. They recovered a stolen Ford Focus in Earlsdon during their patrols.
Officers also checked Foleshill Road and Stoney Stanton Road for illegally parked cars. They reported several violations during their operation.
A West Midlands Police spokesman shared that they had great results during Op Chino in Coventry. This operation focuses on different city areas each month.
They made significant arrests, including one for shop theft. The team also patrolled various shopping parks with both uniformed and plain-clothed officers.
Alongside Safer Travel, they conducted a parking operation on Stoney Stanton and Foleshill Roads, reporting multiple parking violations. Each month, Op Chino targets high-priority issues in different Coventry areas.
