A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a journalist in Wimbledon, following the extradition of two men from Romania
Wimbledon: So, there’s been a lot going on with this journalist stabbing case. A man was arrested recently after a journalist got stabbed while doing his job. This happened on Queensmere Road back in March 2024.
The journalist, Pouria Zeraati, works for a London-based broadcaster called Iran International. He was hurt when he was heading to his car. The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command is on the case, trying to figure out what happened.
Just yesterday, a 40-year-old guy was picked up in Cricklewood, North-West London. He’s suspected of being involved in a conspiracy to cause serious harm. Right now, he’s out on bail until April while the police keep digging into the details.
Before this, two men from Romania were arrested when they landed at a UK airport after being extradited on December 17. Nandito Badea, 20, and George Stana, 24, are facing charges for wounding and intent to cause serious harm. They showed up in court on December 18 and are currently in custody.
They’re set to appear at the Old Bailey next Friday, January 17. It’s a pretty serious situation, and everyone’s keeping a close eye on how it unfolds.
