Dudley: Some would-be thieves tried to ram raid a store early in the morning. They forced their way into a shop on The Straits, Lower Gornal.

Even though they got inside, they left without taking anything. Police have started an investigation into what happened.

Officers are checking CCTV footage to find the suspects. Witnesses saw police cars outside Straits News and Off Licence during the early hours.

Pictures from the scene showed the shop front damaged, with the door and windows broken. A police spokesperson confirmed they are looking into the ram raid.

They said a group entered the store around 2:20 AM but ran away empty-handed. Police are reviewing footage and gathering more information.
