Life in Llancarfan, just north of Rhoose and close to Barry, has had its ups and downs. Ian fondly remembers the local school and the joyful sounds of kids playing.
Despite its rural charm, the village is known for its stunning church wall paintings, which are quite a sight. St Cadoc’s Church, dating back to the 12th century, stands proudly in the village center, surrounded by the pub and village hall.

Father Kevin Barry, the local priest, loves the village’s community spirit. He says it’s a great place for families, even if getting around can be tricky without public transport.

Just a short walk from the church is the Fox and Hounds pub, known for its delicious food. The new landlords, Andrew and Julie, have made it a cozy spot where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a quiet drink.
Chloe, who works there, loves the peaceful atmosphere. She says it’s nice to take a stroll without the hustle and bustle of city life.
Llancarfan is not just a pretty village; it’s also a desirable place to buy a home. Properties like Cliff House, a stunning thatched cottage, have caught the eye of many potential buyers.
