Cardiff: Six streets in Wales just got a nice surprise. Each winner received £1,000 from the People’s Postcode Lottery. The lucky towns include Cardiff, Penarth, Llanfyllin, Rassau, Newport, and Lampeter.

To enter, players pay £12 a month. They join a daily draw for £1,000. There’s also a weekly draw on Thursdays, giving £10 to players in 1,000 postcodes. A third of ticket sales goes to charity.

Earlier this January, 11 other streets also won. Last December, one street shared a £1 million prize. The People’s Postcode Lottery helps charities while giving players cash prizes. Players sign up with their postcode and are automatically entered into every draw.
