Wrabness station in Essex is a little-known spot with great access to London
Essex: You know, Essex is packed with busy train stations since it’s so close to London. But there’s this one little station that hardly anyone uses. It’s called Wrabness, and it only gets about 50 visitors a day!
Wrabness railway station is on the Mayflower Line, which is part of the Great Eastern Main Line. It’s about 65 miles from London Liverpool Street, sitting between Mistley and Harwich International station.
Greater Anglia calls Wrabness a “very small” station. In fact, it only had 17,280 passengers in the year 2021/2022. That’s less than 50 people daily!
What’s interesting is that the station is unstaffed and doesn’t have toilets or a waiting room. But don’t let that fool you; it has fantastic commuter links. Getting into London is super easy from Wrabness.
Some trains go straight to London Liverpool Street without any changes. Others might require a switch at Colchester or Manningtree, but it’s still pretty convenient.
Wrabness is definitely underrated when it comes to commuting. Tucked away along the Essex shoreline, it’s a lovely little village that offers a peaceful break from the city’s chaos.
It’s a small community with a friendly vibe. Some people really love its calm beauty and tight-knit feel, while others wish it had more amenities and nightlife, according to AreaHive.
If you’re after a budget-friendly place to live with an easy commute to London, Wrabness is a hidden gem. The average house price there is around £310,500, which is much lower than the Essex average. You really can’t go wrong!
